However, in the U.S., much more should be done to shut down child pornography websites and prevent child sex abuse. Most abuse starts online and can be detected. Technology can be used to prevent abuse and reinforce the law.
1) Guardian bots: Search engines such as Google and Yahoo use bots to crawl websites and determine their content. A department created exclusively to prevent illicit content on the Internet could use the same technology to detect child pornography online. The bot would be capable of identifying keywords selected to detect malicious content in chat rooms or email and give the necessary legal alert to individuals involved. They also can block all sexual content to underage users. A web master can determine a no-follow command for Google and Yahoo bots, but not for the Guardian bot. It should be mandatory for all host providers in the U.S. to facilitate the process and cooperate with any investigation.
A special Stamp of Child Security would be created in order to identify family-friendly Internet providers and website hosts. Large databases with websites that contain illegal content must be created by Internet providers and used as a source for law enforcement agents.
1) Reinforce the law: Some states are more flexible than others. In several states, possession of child pornography is not illegal. In others states, the age of consent for sexual activity is 13. We can produce better and more consistent legislation, increase state control and execute punishment of crimes against children. All sexual psychopaths and criminals involved in child exploitation and abuse must be condemned to life imprisonment. If the offender was an education or child care professional, they should be condemned to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
3) It is also very important that the public has complete access to information about criminals, their methods, and their whereabouts. Schools, hotels, restaurants, pharmacies, libraries, hospitals, and a lot of other places could expose photographs, details, and rewards about wanted rapists, sex-offenders, and criminals who have exploited children. Educational videos about child security can be offered free of charge in every grocery store and used in schools to alert students and educators.
